Realizing the urgent need of So. Gabihan residents for a dedicated water supply system, Tanay Water District completed in November 2017 its water system improvement in the area. With it, So. Gabihan consumers now have 24/7 reliable water supply.

Prior to the said accomplishment, the So. Gabihan resettlement site, where the Gawad Kalinga Teleperformance and Araneta villages were located, rely on the line pressure from Tanay Ville Pumping Station.

The project didn’t just give So. Gabihan residents their own water supply infrastructure, it also led to the lowering of operating pressure in Tanay Ville Pumping Station from 75psi to 45psi. This considerably reduced non-revenue water in So. Gabihan, San Marcelino, and Tanay Ville – all located in Brgy. Tandang-Kutyo.

Tanay Water District Engineering Division laid 3” diameter HDPE pipes to serve as transmission line and a 5Hp vertical in-line pump with a capacity of 12cu.m/hr at 47m head.

The project began in June 26, 2016 when the So. Gabihan proposed water system improvement was submitted and subsequently approved a month after. Actual groundworks started in May 23, 2017 and operations commenced in November 2017.

TanWD is eyeing other projects to better realize its thrust of bringing clean and reliable water supply to all its client-partners.
